It has been said that approximately forty percent (40%) of union membership is comprised of conservatives verses the remaining sixty percent (60%) are liberals. This is an interesting scenario to say the least. Of course these figures may be an unqualified statistic. For discussion purposes, let us assume the above figures are correct.

Are conservatives in agreement with typical union mantra? And are liberals too, in agreement? Are union arenas where conservatives and liberals can have an accord?

Union membership affords all its members common goals in regard to union-labor relations. Are these goals in conflict with typical conservative and liberal ideologies?

Do the benefits of the whole out way the benefits of the individual?
